Matrix creators Larry and Andy Wachowski’s racing film has amazement aplenty for eyes and ears. But the pure exhilaration is impeded by cartoon morality.

There is more to fighting than putting another man down. There is respect, discipline, and – above all – honor. That’s the message of writer and director David Mamet in “Redbelt.” It is a martial arts film without fists flying and feet kicking. It’s a martial arts film with brains.
“Redbelt” tells the story of Mike […]

Comedy is funnier with compassion for the characters. Thankfully, after such a long drought of ‘comedy’ films, along comes Judd Apatow and his crew. Together, they put heart into their comedy, allowing a much more enjoyable feature. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is another one to add to their list of many successes.
Jason Segel plays Peter Bretter, […]

The latest superhero to grace the big screen is Iron Man in Marvel Comic’s anticipated self-produced movie. This summer’s first blockbuster is breezy and fun, but perhaps just a bit too much so.

Pathology is another example of an interesting premise plagued by poor execution. The creators of the extremely entertaining Crank (2006, R) turn to a more serious tone in this crime-thriller. However, the shortcuts they took with Crank can not be made in a film like this.

Director Roland Emmerich stands synonimous for blockbuster films. Visually imposing action over complex plot. But his latest film isn’t just poorly written, the entire filmmaking craft behind it is deficient.

Mike (Mos Def) works in a small, struggling video store in New Jersey. His friend Jerry (Jack Black) accidently becomes magnetised and manages to erase every single tape in the store. With mounting debts, how are they going to get out of this crisis? By remaking the lost films themselves, that’s how.

It all started with a mysterious trailer that debuted in July 2007 with Transformers. No title, only a release date: 1-18-08. Since then, everyone has eagerly awaited J.J. Abrams’ top secret monster movie, and now that the cat’s finally out of the bag, I’m relieved to say that Cloverfield does not disappoint.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
