The Hollywood Reporter writes that Fox network has given the go ahead for casting to begin on the hour long Sci-Fi pilot Inseparable, from Invasion creator Shaun Cassidy and ABC Studios, but the ongoing WGA strike has put the brakes on the project.
Inseparable is a modern-day Jekyll and Hyde tale about a partially paralyzed forensic psychiatrist with a split personality whose alter ego is a charismatic criminal.
Cassidy first conceived the idea in 2003 and pitched it to Fox before the writer’s strike. The network bought it and asked for a revised draft but before Cassidy was able to complete it, the writers walkout began.
Two months later, the prolonged strike has wiped out this year’s pilot season, and the duration of the stoppage is anybody’s guess.
To get a head start when it’s over, Fox is proceeding with casting on Inseparable but there will be no official pilot order to the project until the network sees Cassidy’s new draft, which he will finish after the end of the strike.
