The Writers Guild Association (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have officially reached a tentative agreement that will conclude the strike and could see the Hollywood authors resuming work as early as Monday.
The WGA leadership is discussing the specific terms of the agreement with its membership at Los Angeles and New York-based meetings this weekend, where they will also discuss how they will proceed regarding ratification of this agreement and lifting the restraining order that ends the strike.
The tentative agreement covers the WGA’s most pressing issue of writing made for new media (e.g. projects distributed via the internet) and includes a minum annual rates increase of about 3%. The specifics can be read at ComingSoon.net.
