Silver says ‘Wonder Woman’ back on track

'Wonder Woman'The Joel Silver produced Wonder Woman film was put on hold last autumn when Warner Bros. decided to go ahead with Justice League instead.

However, Silver has now told IESB.net that he has got scribes Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland to write a new Wonder Woman script involving an origin story. The screenwriting pair had delivered a WW2-set script last year which was optioned by WB, but Silver has since ditched that draft in favour of a storyline involving Paradise Island and Wonder Woman’s original background.

There’s no word yet on who would direct the film, although Silver did hint that Andy Wachowski (The Matrix, Speed Racer) had an idea on how to open the film.

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
