The last of the guilds to announce its nominees was the Producers Guild yesterday. The candidates in the motion picture category are the same as the Directors Guild nominees except for Juno, which got in at the expense of Sean Penn’s Into The Wild.
Shut out once again were previous favourites like Atonement, Sweeney Todd, American Gangster or Charlie Wilson’s War - all of which may now meet a similar fate when the Oscar nominations are announced January 22.
