The Golden Globes are just a week away and it’s looking more and more likely that no actual awards ceremony will be taking place this year.
With the writers strike ongoing, the WGA announced that its members would be picketing the Globes next week. In a show of solidarity, members of the Screen Actors Guild have seemingly reached an unanimous decision not to cross WGA picket lines. This means that no SGA members will appear at the Globes as presenters or awards recipients.
HFPA president Jorge Camara released the following statement in response: ‘The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has been placed in an extremely difficult position with the ongoing Writers Guild strike. We are making every effort to work out a solution that will permit the Golden Globes to take place with the creative community present to participate. We hope to announce a resolution to this unfortunate predicament on Monday.’
