A studio source at IESB has told the site that Justice League, the big screen outing for DC Comic’s superhero ensemble is in trouble.
‘Justice League is indeed in danger of not starting production on time and maybe even getting scrapped altogether’ writes the source. ‘The concerns are that the script is not ready to go in front of cameras, and also that the budget is getting a bit out of control‘.
Apparently two high level studio troubleshooters were dispatched to Australia shortly before Christmas to try and get the feature back on schedule. The source also claims that Warner Bros president Jeff Robinov isn’t sure ‘if the timing is right for JLA’, and that the Chris Nolan camp are unhappy that the JLA film is moving forward amidst positive buzz for The Dark Knight.
‘The cast for Justice League is mediocre, the execs know it’s mediocre, it’s going to go down to wire on this one,’ continues the source. ‘This movie cold be huge but right now it’s plagued with a couple of big issues and the WGA strike isn’t making things easier’.
