‘Babylon A.D.’ cut to half for US & UK release?

'Babylon A.D.' teaser posterBack in November we covered a rumour that the running time of the upcoming Vin Diesel and Michelle Yeoh led sci-fi epic Babylon A.D. was due to be significantly shortened for its release in the United States.

Twitchfilm now reports that director Mathieu Kassovitz’s original 160-minute long version will be screened only on contintental Europe, while Fox (who hold the film rights for the rest of the world) has submitted a new 90-minute cut to the UK’s film board for certification.

This would mean that all territories outside mainland Europe - which obviously includes the US and the UK - will have to make do with a version of Babylon A.D. that’s been reduced to nearly half its original running time! The movie is released August 29.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
