Back in November we covered a rumour that the running time of the upcoming Vin Diesel and Michelle Yeoh led sci-fi epic Babylon A.D. was due to be significantly shortened for its release in the United States.
Twitchfilm now reports that director Mathieu Kassovitz’s original 160-minute long version will be screened only on contintental Europe, while Fox (who hold the film rights for the rest of the world) has submitted a new 90-minute cut to the UK’s film board for certification.
This would mean that all territories outside mainland Europe - which obviously includes the US and the UK - will have to make do with a version of Babylon A.D. that’s been reduced to nearly half its original running time! The movie is released August 29.
