The new trailer for The Dark Knight featured an intriguing scene in which Harvey Dent’s face is seen in profile and the half turned away from camera appears severely burnt: our first glimpse at Two-Face?
Dent actor Aaron Eckhart gave a lengthy and interesting interview to the LA Times about his role, promising that there “are fans on the Internet who have done artist’s versions of what they think it will look like, and I can tell you this: They’re thinking small; Chris [Nolan, Director] is going way farther than people think.”
Eckhart added: “I can tell you that, basically, when you look at Two-Face, you should get sick to your stomach. Being the guy under all that, well, that was a lot of fun for me. It’s like you would feel if you met someone whose face had pretty much been ripped off or burned off with acid.”

It’s pay day at Marvel Studios after the studio’s first independently produced film surpassed even the more optimistic estimations at the US and international box office.
In the United States, Iron Man beat the $100 million mark in its first week of release, grossing a total of $104.2 million (and averaging no less than $24,543 per screen). But the film also stormed the international box office, taking in a further $96.7 million in 57 countries, which brings its worldwide total up to $201 million after just five days!
Iron Man had the 10th biggest opening weekend of all-time (the fourth biggest among superhero movies). Among nonsequels it came in behind only Spider-Man ($114.8 million opening). The movie has also fallen well with the critics (currently 94% fresh at Rotten Tomatoes) and according to Entertainment Tonight, a sequel could soon get the greenlight for May 2010.

Rick Yune (Die Another Day, The Fast and the Furious) has been cast in the role of the villain in Ninja Assassin says The Hollywood Reporter.
Naomi Harris (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End) joins as the female lead, completing the quartet of leads together with previously confirmed Collin Chou (The Matrix Reloaded) and Korean pop star Rain (Speed Racer).
Rain plays a man brought up in an orphanage functioning as a ninja farm. The man turns his back on his tradition to make his way in the modern world, which brings him into conflict with a ninja (Yune) from the clan. James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) is directing the film, which Joel Silver is producing together with his The Matrix trilogy and Speed Racer directors Larry and Andy Wachowski.

Australian actress Teresa Palmer has won a role in Michael Bay’s Transformers 2, according to The Courier Mail.
Palmer (The Black Balloon, Bedtime Stories) was close to another part in a blockbuster film recently when she was rumoured to play Talia al Ghul in the now defunct Justice League movie.
Fellow Australian actress Rachael Taylor starred in the first Transformers, but it seems unlikely that her character would return in the sequel, which starts filming this summer for release in July 2009.

Moviegoers attending screenings of Marvel’s new superhero flick Iron Man should note that there is a reason to remain sitting through the end credits.
Discussions between internet users posting their reactions to the film, which opened last Friday, have revealed that Samuel L. Jackson’s cameo appearance as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury was not cut from the film (as early reviews may have led to believe), but added onto the movie as an extra scene that plays after the final credits have passed.
You can read our critical assessment of the film at this link.
