'Babylon A.D.' teaser posterBack in November we covered a rumour that the running time of the upcoming Vin Diesel and Michelle Yeoh led sci-fi epic Babylon A.D. was due to be significantly shortened for its release in the United States.

Twitchfilm now reports that director Mathieu Kassovitz’s original 160-minute long version will be screened only on contintental Europe, while Fox (who hold the film rights for the rest of the world) has submitted a new 90-minute cut to the UK’s film board for certification.

This would mean that all territories outside mainland Europe - which obviously includes the US and the UK - will have to make do with a version of Babylon A.D. that’s been reduced to nearly half its original running time! The movie is released August 29.

'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' theatrical posterAmazon.com has started taking pre-orders for the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull soundtrack, which is out May 20, two days prior to the film’s release.

Like with other film scores, many of the titles of the individual tracks refer directly to events taking place in the film - offering curious fans hints towards the movie’s super-secret plot.

The music is once again composed and conducted by John Williams. Read on below the fold to see the tracklist, but be warned of spoilers. (The film’s ending is not spoiled).

Jake GyllenhaalAn offer is out to Jake Gyllenhaal to play the lead role in Jerry Bruckheimer’s upcoming big-budget production Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Latino Review reports.

The news comes on the back of rumours that Orlando Bloom was in the frame for the part, which were denied earlier this week.

The epic project is a live-action feature based on the action-adventure videogame. Prince of Persia has a script by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (The Day After Tomorrow) and game creator Jordan Mechner. The original story follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world.

Hulk Is Hero. It has been a long and hard two years for director Louis Letterier. To bring The Incredible Hulk to the screen was not only only a huge task in terms of scale but also in terms of a media and fanbase who were protective over a character they felt had been misconstrued […]

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
