Batman and The Joker>A trio of new film stills from The Dark Knight that have been circulating on the net recently are now available to see in our movie gallery.

UPDATE: Images removed per request.

The shots show a (fake) dead Batman (with the Joker’s signifier make-up), the (a?) Joker dressed up as a nurse in a hospital room and The Joker posing as a police officer sans make-up.

The sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins opens in cinemas July 18.

'The Dark Knight' teaser posterWarner Bros. has released the following official plot synopsis for Chris Nolan’s Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight:

The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan with star Christian Bale, who returns to continue Batman’s war on crime.

With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good.

The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante.

‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ posterThe theatrical debut of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on August 15 is only a couple of months away, and now the first details on the plot of the animated film have emerged.

In its report on the Toy Fair in Australia Mousedroid.com also published a photo of the back of the Obi-Wan Kenobi toy from the Clone Wars toyline. It features the following text, which seems to hint at events to be seen in the film (or possibly in the TV series which follows in the fall):

To gain free passage through Jabba the Hutt’s shipping routes, the Republic agrees to rescue the crime lord’s kidnapped son, Rotta the Huttlet. Obi-Wan learns that Anakin and his team have found the child and are under attack by Separatist forces. Obi-Wan races to join them on the remote planet, bringing much-need reinforcements to Anakin and his embattled team.

‘Blindness’ teaser posterThe first trailer for Fernando Mereilles’ new film Blindness has been released online at MSN.com.

Starring Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore, Gael Garcia Bernal, Danny Glover and Sandra Oh, the film is an adaptation of Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago’s acclaimed novel. 2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
