‘Speed Racer’ international posterWarner Bros. Pictures has provided the X-Realms with new Speed Racer imagery.

We’ve got a brand-new international poster and eight film stills - most of which are new, while the others are updated versions of older pictures with added effects-work applied.

Directed by The Matrix creators Larry and Andy Wachowski, Speed Racer follows the adventures of the youthful Speed (Emile Hirsch) as he tries to obtain victory in his tricked-out racecar, built by his father. Speed is often bailed out of danger by Racer X (Matthew Fox), a rival with a mysterious connection to Speed. The film debuts in conventional and IMAX cinemas May 9.

Iron MongerA strange set of new Iron Man images have found their way online via SuperHeroHype.

While the shots themselves (of admirable quality, but not of size) offer us our first glimpses at the spectacular Iron Man/Iron Monger showdown, each picture carries a huge watermark of the Paramount Pictures logo. With the website claiming it doesn’t know where their source has these pictures from, chances are that the images are stolen goods - and as such prone to disappear off the net soon. There’s no telling how long they will remain up so you may as well head over there as soon as possible to get your fix.

The anticipated comic book film opens in cinemas May 2.

‘Larklight’ book coverShekhar Kapur, the director of stellar Elizabeth and the catastrophic Elizabeth: The Golden Age, has signed on to direct the $200 million period fantasy epic Larklight says The Hollywood Reporter

The film will be based on Philip Reeve’s 2006 novel which is set in a Victorian-era alternate universe in which mankind has been exploring the solar system since the time of Isaac Newton. The main plot revolves around a brother and sister who team with a band of renegade space pirates to save the world from destruction at the hands of a madman.

Oscar-nominated screenwriter Steven Knight (Eastern Promises) has been hired to adapt Reeve’s novel for the big-screen.

Hayden ChristensenGeorge Miller’s Justice League movie looks set to go again, with producers expecting a script within the next two months, going by new information published on MovieHole.

When the project went on hold back in January, the studio confirmed it would eventually do the film with the cast intact. One of the actors who was already confirmed (for the role of The Flash) at that point was Adam Brody (The O.C.), who has now apparently revealed that Hayden Christensen (Revenge of the Sith, Jumper) is set to play Clarke Kent/Superman in the film, according to Cinema Blend.

The website also claims that location scouting is currently underway in Canada, reinforcing reports that production is moving from Australia to Northern America.

Hulk Is Hero. It has been a long and hard two years for director Louis Letterier. To bring The Incredible Hulk to the screen was not only only a huge task in terms of scale but also in terms of a media and fanbase who were protective over a character they felt had been misconstrued [...]

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
