The new James Bond film Quantum of Solace will open in UK cinemas on October 31st, a full week prior to its worldwide release, according to The Belfast Telegraph.
Aint-it-cool-news reports that the first trailer will debut in theaters in front of the Will Smith starrer Hancock on July 2nd, while Variety is estimating Solace’s production budget at a whopping $230 million - a figure which easily dwarfs Casino Royale’s respectable $130 million.

Despite previous reports that he was locked on to direct the two Peter Jackson-produced The Hobbit films, Guillermo del Toro is still not officially on board.
The Pan’s Labyrinth-director told TheOneRing.net: “At this stage anything I say is of no consequence for I am not yet signed to do “The Hobbit.” Negotiations advance but are still ongoing.”
Nevertheless, del Toro is dilligently preparing for the major task: “All I can say is that I am diligently going through all Tolkien material related to Middle-earth but only as a way of bridging a gap in my reading. I still respond the strongest to ‘The Hobbit,’ but as an avid reader of Mythology I find a lot of his other writings fascinating. A perfect Cosmology forged from very eclectic sources.”

Collin Chou, who played Seraph in the three Matrix movies, told SCI FI Wire that he will be one of the four leads in the fantasy feature Ninja Assassin.
Matrix direcors Andy and Larry Wachowski will produce the film, which V for Vendetta director James McTeigue is set to helm.
Chou confirmed that he’ll be playing a role that was turned down by Jet Li. Korean pop star Rain (who has a role in this summer’s Speed Racer) was previously confirmed to be playing another one of the four leads.

With the release of Batman Begins-sequel The Dark Knight approaching, lead actor Christian Bale was asked by Entertainment Weekly about the chances of him returning for a third film:
“Let’s wait and see…I would, knowing the Dark Knight story, I would like very much to complete a trilogy. And I think that knowing the story of The Dark Knight, it leaves you anticipating something that really can get very, very interesting for a third. Now, the question would be: Is Chris [Nolan] going to be doing it? Because to me I find it tricky to imagine working on it without it being a collaboration with Chris.”
Reports following the release of Begins had indicated that Nolan and writer David Goyer had written outlines for two further films, but apparently some story elements that were initially intended for the second have now been accomodated in The Dark Knight. These are said to involve aspects of the storyline around Harvey Dent/Two Face, who was supposed to be the main villain in the trilogy closer.

The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier spoke to Empire Magazine recently, confirming that the (rather poor) CGI on display in the trailer is still a work in progress.
Leterrier also commented on the film’s ending: “[U]nlike a normal movie where the final fight scene is six minutes long, ours is 26 minutes long! So you get 26 minutes of two monsters pummelling each other through New York City, jumping up and down, ripping helicopters from the sky and stuff. You know, lots of green blood on the street, splashed all around. So it’s pretty cool. …Some humans try to get out of the way but no, they can’t… there’s a little bit of collateral damage! (Laughs) There’s a bit of a bodycount. Not on account of the Hulk — the Hulk’s a saviour — but Blomsky [Abomination] is ruthless.”
The movie opens in cinemas June 13.
