In an interview with MTV, G.I. Joe producer and Hasbro exec Brian Goldner has revealed a little bit about some of the characters and plotlines of the upcoming film -
‘We all know of the Arashikage [ninja clan], and we all know of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow’ explained Golding. ‘But we need to build that story. We all know the story of Duke, and the story of the Baroness. … We know the story of Destro, but do we really? We need to go back and tell the origin story of how you get a Scottish arms dealer, who comes forward in history — how does that happen?’

IDW publishing is set to continue their comic book series that picks up from where the original Star Trek television series ended, with a chronicle of the Starship Enterprise’s untold fourth year.
D.C. Fontana, who started her career as Gene Roddenberry’s assistant during the Original Series and went on to write some of Star Trek’s most memorable episodes will pen the saga with co-writer Derek Chester (Star Trek: Legacy) and longtime Star Trek artist Gordon Purcell.

According to Shock Till You Drop, Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes are planning a remake of horror classic Rosemary’s Baby.
Based on Ira Levin’s horror novel, the original 1968 film was helmed by Roman Polanski and has turned out to be not only that director’s most famous movie to date, but also a classic of the genre.
Platinum Dunes - who was responsible for recent horror remakes such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror and The Hitcher - is currently seeking writers to adapt the project.

20th Century Fox has moved back the release of Dragonball from August 15, 2008 to April 3, 2009, according to ComingSoon.net.
The James Wong-directed film would have faced competition from The International, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Tropic Thunder and Wild Child on its old date, while it currently sits by itself on the new date.
Dragonball is based on the manga created by Akira Toriyama; the work was also turned into a Japanese anime series that played all over the world. It tells the story of an alien sent to destroy Earth, who has a change of heart and decides to join the humans in their fight against various aliens and bad guys. The film stars Justin Chatwin, James Marsters, Jamie Chung, Emmy Rossum, Eriko Tamura, Joon Park and Chow Yun-Fat.

Photos from the set of X-Men Origins: Wolverine have appeared on Just Jared.
The images show actors Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber, who play the roles of Wolverine and his nemesis Sabretooth, in costume in Sydney, Australia, where director Gavin Hood is currently shooting the X-Men spin-off for a May 2009 release.
The film deals with Wolverine’s violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. have announced that Speed Racer will be simultaneously released in conventional and IMAX theatres on May 9, 2008.
WB distrib president Dan Fellman is ‘delighted to release the film to IMAX theatres, where audiences can experience the next best thing to actually sitting in the driver’s seat during this high speed adventure,’ while IMAX co-CEOs Richard L. Gelfond and Bradley J. Wechsler said ‘the unique vision of these talented filmmakers has always been well suited to IMAX’s format, and we’re more than excited to be a part of this release.’
Speed Racer is based by the 1960s Japanese cartoon series and directed by Andy and Larry Wachowski.

Rose Byrne (Troy, Sunshine) has been cast in the lead role opposite Nicolas Cage in the sci-fi thriller Knowing, The Hollywood Reporter writes.
Byrne will play the daughter of a woman who buried a 1962 time capsule bearing the dates of the assassinations of historical figures, the hotel fire death of the wife of a professor (Cage) and an imminent world apocalypse. After the professor discovers its contents and alerts her, the initially skeptical Byrne begins remembering strange incidents from her childhood.
Production is set to begin March 25 in Melbourne, Australia. The film is directed by Alex Proyas (The Crow, I, Robot).
