The story is set in a futuristic Great Britain where a deadly plague, known as the Reaper Virus, has broken out, killing hundreds of thousands in its wake. indy4small1.jpgIt looks like Steven Spielberg has got his own way regarding the projection format of the upcoming Indy IV,  no doubt despite his partner’s (George Lucas) belief that digital ‘is the future’.

According to a source at JoBlo,  Paramount under instructions from Spielberg has announced that  Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will not be available in digital format and the studio is requesting that complexes who can’t project the 35mm format let them know.

Score one nil to the Berg.

heroes_lead.jpgJames Kyson Lee, who plays Ando in hit NBC show Heroes  has told SCI FI Wire that he believes that the show will soon be back on track following the disruption of the writer’s strike.

In an interview at Wondercon in San Francisco,  Lee explained that the production team could resume work in June,  or perhaps even as early as May, adding ‘I think NBC is going to do another big push again, right after the Olympics, and we’ll premiere season three in September.’

The upcoming third season of the Heroes saga is called Villains and promises to ‘open up a whole new world’ and introduce a new set of characters.

9small.jpgCrispin Glover has given SCI FI Wire a progress update on the feature-length movie adaptation of Shane Acker’s Oscar-nominated animated short 9,  in which the quirky actor voices a creature who steals souls in a post-apocalyptic world.

‘I have finished with all of my work on it, but I don’t know what exactly his happening with that,’ explained Glover.  ‘The work I did on that was very different from Beowulf, because in that one I did go on and do my voice and didn’t have a chance to interact with other actors.

9 has been written by Pamela Pettler and features the voices of Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau and Elijah Wood.   The plot revolves around a rag doll character that fights a monster that has stolen the rest of his people’s souls.  The characters and sets are mostly comprised of every-day objects.

megassmall.jpgJonathan Mostow (Terminator 3) is working with Virgin Comics to adapt graphic novel The Megas reports Variety.

The graphic novel, scripted by John Harrison and drawn by Peter Rubin, presupposes an America that has a ruling class called the Megas, for whom there is a special set of laws. A detective who believes in the monarchy rethinks his position after investigating a crime that reveals ugly truths about the elite society.

It’s unclear whether Mostow will write the script or direct the feature adaptation;  he and Virgin Comics chief creative officer Gotham Chopra and CEO Sharad Devarajan will begin shopping the project shortly. The graphic novel is the latest title in the Director’s Cut series, with previous installments involving John Woo, Nicolas and Weston Cage and Guy Ritchie.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
