Sarah Michelle Gellar has told SCI FI Wire that although she doesn’t think a new movie version of Buffy the Vampire Hunter would work, she hasn’t ruled out a return to the role.
‘We had a lot to overcome on a TV show,’ said Gellar. ‘Everyone’s like, ‘Why would you do that?’ So then to go back [to a movie] feels kind of hard.’ When asked is she might reprise the role, the actress replied ‘Never say never’.
Gellar added that she is still keen to develop a movie based on the computer game American McGee’s Alice, to which she owns the film rights. The project was all set to go a few years ago until a regime change at Universal scuppered her plans.
