Warner Bros. has confirmed that production on Justice League is on indefinite hold over the ongoing writers strike, Variety reports.
The deadline for the studio to greenlight the project was reached on Tuesday, when Warners decided to let the options on the young cast lapse. The studio has assured the cast (including Adam Brody as The Flash, Armie Hammer Jr. as Batman and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman) that it still wants to make the film with them in it, but this isn’t likely to happen until late summer or fall.
Warner Bros. said the reasons for the delay are that the script needs a rewrite (which currently isn’t possible due to the ongoing strike) and that the studio is still waiting for confirmation on receiving tax breaks for shooting in Australia.
