The future of the anticipated Justice League movie is hanging in the balance according to a couple of sources over at IESB.
It’s pretty much common knowledge that the production is in trouble following casting problems and the impact of the writer’s strike, but IESB claim that if these snags aren’t resolved in the next few days pre-production will come to a halt and a decision will be made on the future of the property.
They also speculate that Warner Bros could have been seeking non-WGA writers to apply last-minute tweaks to script, so the next few days could be very interesting for the DC comics ensemble outing.

Horror movies are not normally included within the X-Realms scope, but as George A Romero’s upcoming undead opus Diary of the Dead very nearly shuffles into the realm of Sci-Fi and will probably deliver more insightful commentary on the Youtube age than JJ Abram’s monster flick Cloverfield, I feel compelled to report.
The ageing gore maestro has unveiled the trailer for his Dead saga prequel on Myspace. Click here to watch.
Diary of the Dead, in Romero’s own words, is his ‘first film since his original Night of the Living Dead that he can say is completely his own‘. Shot in a documentary style, the picture chronicles the origins of the nightmare scenario that is explored in his original quadrilogy.

MTV has spoken to Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood about New Line’s planned adaptation of The Hobbit and a potential LOTR sequel that bridges the books.
‘I haven’t spoken to him [Peter Jackson] directly about it [but] I’ve e-mailed him, and as far as I know the two films that they’re doing, one will be ‘The Hobbit’ and another will take place between the 60 years that happened between ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ said Wood, adding ‘If I’m asked to go back and revisit that character and it makes sense, I would love to. I would absolutely love to.’

Design team members from Lightstorm Entertainment, the company founded by Cameron after the release of the Abyss, visited the rig to study the photograph and video almost every aspect of the rig to draw inspiration from its working and living environment.
‘The visit to the Boudreaux was a great help to our design process to our efforts in making our sci-fi fantasy believable,’ said production designer Rick Carter. ‘You can’t make up the kinds of things we learned.’
