‘Dune’Peter Berg (The Kingdom) has confirmed to MTV that he will direct a new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic Dune.

Berg revealed that if it wasn’t for the ongoing writers strike, he’d already be working on the project now. No script is available yet, but Berg feels that David Lynch’s movie version ‘left the door wide open for a remake’.

'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' teaser posterJohn Hurt was recently interview by Premiere.com about next summer’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The actor reveals how he thought twice about accepting a role in such a huge film and how he was allowed not more than an afternoon with the script alone before committing to the project, but was tight-lipped on the movie’s plot and the identity of his character in particular. Having signed NDAs, he only grinned when asked if he was playing Abner Ravenwood, Marion’s father Indy proclaimed as dead in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Hurt also offered some insight into his acting peers on the film and Spielberg’s balancing of live-action shots vs. CGI. You can read the interview at this link.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
