Heath Ledger as The Joker in the teaser trailer for ‘The Dark Knight’If you’ve still not seen the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight, we urge you to get up to date here. If you can’t get enough of it, we’ve uploaded no less than forty-three high-resolution screencaps from the clip in our movie gallery for you to browse.

In the film Batman (Christian Bale) sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. A partnership with Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker (Heath Ledger).

The Christopher Nolan-directed sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins is released July 18, 2008.

'Transformers'AwardsDaily has posted the fifteen films shortlisted for this year’s Best Special Effects Oscar:

Beowulf / The Bourne Ultimatum / Evan Almighty / The Golden Compass / Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix / I Am Legend / Live Free or Die Hard / National Treasure: Book of Secrets / Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End / Ratatouille / Spider-Man 3 / Sunshine / 300 / Transformers / The Water Horse

Only three of these candidates will make the cut as official nominees; and the only real lock is Michael Bay’s Transformers. As for the other two? My bet is on Pirates 3 and The Golden Compass, but this list is really tough to narrow down. We’ll find out for sure when the Academy Awards nominees are announced January 22.

Daniel Craig as Lord Asriel in 'The Golden Compass'A clip from the original ending of The Golden Compass is now available on YouTube

Studio pressure forced director Chris Weitz to cut what amounted to the final three chapters of author Philip Pullman’s original novel shortly before the film was released to secure a more upbeat ending for the movie. We’ve seen glimpses of the missing scenes in the trailers, but the film’s official video game features a cut scene of Lyra arriving at Lord Asriel’s Svalbard laboratory with Roger in tow - connaisseurs of the book will know this as the build-up to the great betrayal.

You can use the player below to watch the clip directly on our site:

The Joker international teaser posterWarner Bros. Pictures has released the anticipated teaser trailer for The Dark Knight online.

You can watch the clip in either high-resolution Quicktime or Flash on the movie’s viral site A Taste for the Theatrical. Personally, I’m loving Heath Ledger’s interpretation of The Joker, as well as the impression we get of the character from this trailer. And that crazy laugh!

We’ll have a bunch of hi-res screencaps posted up in due course.

Daniel Radcliffe in ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first image from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

The film still features Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) himself, holding what looks to be the Prince’s potions book. You can view the shot in our movie gallery (click through for high-resolution).

In the sixth installment (released November 21, 2008), Lord Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and Wizard worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
