According to the Hollywood Reporter, rapper Xzibit (xXx: State of the Union), Amanda Peet (Syriana) and Scots stand-up comedian Billy Connolly (Mrs. Brown) have signed on for director Chris Carter’s X-Files 2.
Sources said Xzibit and Peet will play fellow FBI agents to David Duchovny’s Mulder and Gillian Anderson’s Scully in the supernatural thriller with a stand-alone story, not a sequel or continuation of the hit 1998 feature adaptation. Citing a policy of secrecy surrounding the plot line, Fox would not confirm any details regarding the three actors’ roles.
Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the screenplay, and production is expected to begin this month in Vancouver. The film is set to hit theaters in July.

‘You’re going to see a teaser poster later this month’ he said when asked when we might be seeing some more from the highly anticipated Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
When quizzed about a potential fourth outing for the Jurassic Park franchise, he said that he believed it would still shoot for a planned summer 2009, but the WGA strike had postponed the script, adding ‘There’s an idea and we just have to see if it shakes out.’
