Three film stills from next summer’s much anticipated Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull have found their way online.
While various behind-the-scenes photos have been released on indianajones.com over the last few months, this is the first batch of high-quality publicity shots to appear, leaked on the forums of IMDB.com and posted up on Aint-it-cool-news for those with no access.

Director Zack Snyder has updated the official blog for his adaptation of the acclaimed Watchmen graphic novel.
The very first shots from the film, depicting the New York City backlot constructed in Vancouver, can be viewed at this link.

Heath Ledger spoke to SFX magazine about the extraordinary make-up for his The Joker character in next summer’s The Dark Knight:
‘It’s made up of three pieces. It’s a new technology. It’s not a prosthetic. This guy created these silicone pieces and they stamp them on. It’s a lot quicker and super flexible. You hardly even know it’s on your face. If it were a prosthethic, I’d have to have my whole neck and jaw done.’
Meanwhile, Sir Michael Caine told Batman-on-Film how Ledger’s performance holds up to Jack Nicholson’s classic Joker from the Tim Burton film:

Two pictures from James Cameron’s upcoming 3-D epic Avatar are currently doing the rounds on the web.
The artworks show a blue-ish creature and can now be viewed in our movie gallery.
Avatar tells the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival. Filming began this month in New Zealand and Los Angeles with an expected release date of May 22nd 2009.

New Line Cinema has acquired the $60 million animated film Planet 51 from Handmade Films International and Ilion Animation Studios reports Reuters.
The feature is penned by Shrek scribe Joe Stillman and centers on the inhabitants of Planet 51, who live in fear of an alien invasion. Their anxiety is realized when astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker arrives from Earth. Befriended by a young resident, the astronaut has to avoid capture in order to recover his spaceship and return home.
Jorge Blanco (the Commandos videogame) is co-directiong with Javier Abad and Marcos Martinez, while the film is set for release in 2009.
