Stardust PosterWith the wealth of new fantasy movies popping up in the wake of The Lord of the Rings‘ and Harry Potter’s success, is there a quality movie to be found? Those that remember Eragon might beg to differ, but the answer is a definite yes with the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Stardust.

splicesmall1.jpgDread Central has published some incredible but creepy photos from upcoming sci-fi feature Splice.

Click here to take a look in the X-Realms movie galleries.

Splice,  formerly known as Mutants,  is written and directed by Vincenzo Natali.  The film is set to star Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody, who each play scientists who combine animal and human DNA to create a new species.  The result is a deformed infant that grows into a beautiful winged chimera, and a bond is formed between its creators.  The bond turns sour, though, when death starts raining down.

Guillermo del Toro is producing.  Production is scheduled to begin this month with a release expected sometime in 2008.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
