The teaser trailer for New Line’s sci fi adventure Journey 3D is attached to the IMAX screening of Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas reports Comingsoon.
Journey 3-D, from director Eric Brevig, stars Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson and Anita Briem. Brevig and cinematographer Chuck Shuman are using the same 3-D technology that was developed for Walden’s large-format 3-D films from director James Cameron: Ghosts of the Abyss and Aliens of the Deep.

A new international Beowulf poster has hacked itself onto the web, depicting it has to be said, a rather stiff-looking protagonist.

Beowulf, which will hit cinemas in digital 3D in November is an ambitious performance-captured epic from director Robert Zemeckis, based upon an old English poem which tells the story of a warrior who travels to Denmark to save a Kingdom from the nightly attacks of a hideous monster. Mark Wahlberg has replaced fellow actor Ryan Gosling in the Peter Jackson-directed The Lovely Bones reports Variety.
Gosling, who gained twenty pounds and grew a beard for his role, stepped out a day before shooting began over creative differences. Wahlberg takes on his part as Jack Salmon, the grieving father of the film’s murdered protagonist. After reading the script, the Academy Award-nominated actor (The Departed) quickly comitted to the project Sunday.
The film starts shooting today in Pennsylvania, where Wahlberg recently wrapped his lead role in M Night Shyamalan’s The Happening.

Variety reports that the Superman Returns writing team of Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris have opted not to return for The Man of Steel.
As a result, WB is now taking story pitches for project from other writers — just as the studio is trying to figure out which actor will don the character’s tights in Justice League.

Kill Pit director Steve Shill will direct NBC’s Knight Rider pilot writes the Hollywood Reporter.
Doug Liman, who had been tipped to helm, will now take executive production duties on the Transformers-inspired reworking of the 1980s hit action-drama series about a man and his indestructible supercar.
Dave Andron has penned the pilot script and will serve as supervising producer.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor director Rob Cohen has updated his blog with new info on the much anticipated sequel.
Cohen describes how a section of the Great Wall of China has been built for the production upon which the Dragon Emperor (Jet Li) mounts a 50-foot high colossus of himself to wake his 5,000 Terracotta Warriors from 20 centuries underground. From here he leads them in one final battle against the O’Connell’s and the Mystical Forces of his ancient enemy played by Russell Wong who has been raised by Michelle Yeoh.
He goes on to talk about a chase sequence involving the O’Connell’s in a fire-works truck on the tail of The Emperor Mummy, his Chariot racing drawn by four bronze horses right through the Bund Area of Shanghai, Chinese New Year, 1946.
