Warner Bros. is now officially moving aggressively ahead with their adaptation of the DC Comics Justice League of America, helmed by Happy Feet director George Miller, reports Variety.
The project is currently in the initial phase of casting and is a pre-strike priority for the studio, who are seeking a 2009 superhero tentpole. The pantheon of superheroes likely to appear in the film include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash and Aquaman.
Batman and Superman are active properties of the studio, but the next installment in the Superman series has taken a backseat to Justice League in part because Warner Bros. is so keen on the script by Kieran and Michele Mulroney.
