The guys over at IESB have provided a cast update and fleshed out some Star Trek plot details that were originally posted at AICN.
First up, playing a Romulan bad guy could be Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings, Pathfinder). Industry sources are telling IESB that an offer has been put out to the Auckland actor by the studio and they are waiting for an acceptance.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jessica Biel has decided to pass on playing Wonder Woman in the Warner Bros. superhero ensemble piece Justice League.
The Illusionist star had been in early talks to play the Amazonian princess.
Biel is currently shooting the offbeat drama Powder Blue with Ray Liotta, Forest Whitaker and Patrick Swayze.
AICN reports that exciting things are happening at the Downey Soundstages in California.
Apparently George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are filming scenes for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in a reproduction of the warehouse seen at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Fans will recall that this storage facility was where we last saw the Ark of the Covenant, sealed in a wooden crate and marked ‘top secret’.

David Goyer is set to direct a movie based upon Baltimore,: Or, The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire, an illustrated novel by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden.
The authors will write the screenplay with John Baldecchi (Ultra Violet) and Stacy Maes (Jumper) producing reports Variety.
Just-published by Bantam, the graphic novel tells the story of the awakening of supreme evil on Earth. Lord Henry Baltimore is bitten by a demonic vampire bat on a WWI battlefield. The plague destroys his family, and Baltimore creates a team to hunt and fight the Red King, the embodiment of all evil.

Following the UGO Justice League snippets earlier this week, IESB have waded in with their own update.
Firstly, it seems David Slade was in talks with the studio for three weeks prior to George Miller’s recruitment as director but was dropped after the budget crept the wrong side of the $150m threshold. Secondly, the title of the movie is unsurprisingly Justice League, not Justice League of America and last but not least, they claim that rapper and actor star Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. aka T.I. (American Gangster) has recently read for the role of Green Lantern/John Stewart.
Warner Bros. has greenlit Justice League as their summer 2009 tentpole.
IESB are reporting that JJ Abrams may have found an ideal candidate for the role of James T. Kirk in Star Trek.
The site claims that Mike Vogel (Poseidon, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) could be the fore runner for the coveted role. This rumour is fuelled by the fact that the 28-year-old Pennsylvania native will also appear in JJ Abram’s top secret Cloverfield/1-18-08 project.
Paramount Studios are not commenting on the news, but if true, Vogel will join Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura and Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov.
Del Rey Books has announced that it will publish tie-in books based on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which will premiere throughout the world on May 22, 2008.
Del Rey Books was the publisher of the original movie novels, and this new adventure will be penned by New York Times-bestselling author James Rollins (Black Order, Map of Bones, Sandstorm, and the forthcoming The Judas Strain). Del Rey will also be publishing The Making of Indiana Jones by Laurent Bouzereau and J. W. Rinzler, a behind-the-scenes look at the people, places, technology and events that went into the creation of all four Indiana Jones movies, beginning with the classic Raiders of the Lost Ark and culminating with an up-close-and-personal look at the brand-new blockbuster.

Charlie’s Angels director McG has teamed up with writer Ari Eisner to make a new spin on the invisible man story writes the Hollywood Reporter.
Invisible, from Warner Bros. TV and McG’s Wonderland Sound & Vision, tells the story of a criminal at rock bottom who is given a second chance at life when a chemical compound makes him invisible. Eisner’s relationship with McG stems from Target, a spec script he sold to Warner Bros. and Wonderland last year.
Eisner is best known for his popular spoof trailers 10 Things I Hate About Commandments and Must Love Jaws on YouTube.

X-Files 2, the movie sequel that’s been stuck on the back burner for what seems like an eternity could finally be on the boil. In an interview with Movieweb, David Duchovny has revealed that the project could even start lensing before the year is out.
‘the script is written and as far as I know we’re all trying to shoot in December at some point’ said the 47-year-old star. ‘We would all love it if we could keep it a secret and just give everybody a fresh experience of not knowing what the movie’s about. I know if I was a fan of the show I would kind of be excited to be surprised.’
All very exciting David, but haven’t we heard this before?

The Seeker: The Dark is Rising star Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who, Heroes) has told SCI FI Wire that the plot of the upcoming film deviates significantly from the original source material.
‘I think there are many, many departures from the book to the film,’ said Eccleston, who plays the villainous rider. ‘The obvious one is that now the child is an American. The novel has been hugely Americanized in the film. The Rider is reasonably close, and he is the nemesis. He is the dyed-in-the-wool bad guy. There is nothing redeeming about him whatsoever.’

I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing.
