Yesterday, we reported about rumours concerning the monster(s) in J.J. Abrams’ semi-secret (and thus high-profile) 1-18-08 a.ka. Cloverfield project, which Dark Horizons now claims to have confirmed.
The site has received from two ‘agency sources’ what would be major spoilers if true. Apparently (swipe to read spoiler information) the smaller monsters grow from the scales shed by the big one, and all of them are carnivores and eat people throughout. We shouldn’t expect many survivors among the humans (including the leads) and no backstory for the monsters, the big one simply emerges and vanishes again.
The film is scheduled for a January 18, 2008 release.

Morgan Freeman told MTV that his adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s (2001: A Space Odyssey) sci-fi novel Rendezvous with Rama is still on.
The actor (Se7en, Evan Almighty) has been trying to get the movie made together with director David Fincher (Se7en, Zodiac) since the beginning of the millennium, but it’s been taking longer than expected. ‘It’s a very intellectual science fiction film, a very difficult book to translate cinematically. [At least] we have found it very difficult to translate, to get ready for film.’
Clarke’s book features a thirty-mile-long alien spaceship with mysterious origins that is set adrift in our Solar System by an unknown intelligence. ‘I play the captain of the spaceship Endeavor that is charged with rendezvousing with this thing from outer space to find out what it is [and] what its intentions are,’ Freeman said about his role.

Last week’s Jurassic Park IV story and casting rumours have been officially denied over at SpielbergFilms.com:
Steven Spielberg’s personal reps at Amblin Entertainment (co-producers of the “Jurassic Park” franchise) have told SpielbergFilms.com that casting has not commenced on the film, as the story and screenplay are still in development.
The news that the story is still being worked on should come as a relief, as the previously mentioned rumours claimed that the fourth film would center on the US government equipping the Dinosaurs with weapons - an idea met with ridicule on the X-Boards.

Lexi Alexander, director of The Punisher: Welcome Back Frank has posted a new Blog entry on her website in which she talks about progress on the upcoming movie.
The entry reads as follows-
‘A new Warrior is born, and why I love Magic Mountain!
Pre-production to me always feels like the ride up a hill on a major rollercoaster, right before the big drop. There are suddenly little airplanes in your stomach and you ask yourself why on earth you agreed to jump on this ride. You look at the people sitting next to you and you wonder how they will react when you puke on them. Will they be mad? Disgusted? Amused? Or will they be classy and supportive and puke with you, merely to demonstrate their allegiance? What is your crew made of?

Moviehole has published some very interesting news on the Warner Bros Justice League movie.
Yesterday we reported that Christian Bale and Brandon Routh would not be involved in the project, but could the reason for that be because the picture will be animated?
A source, who claimes to know an employee of Sony Imageworks, has told Moviehole that the feature will be a CGI film that utilises performance capture technology to create a photo-real environment and characters much like the upcoming Beowulf.
This news is very much a rumour so please take with a grain of salt.
