J.K. Rowling appeared on The Today Show and revealed that her original epilogue to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was much more detailed than what made it into the final book.
‘But it didn’t work very well as a piece of writing,’ Rowling said. ‘It felt very much that I had crowbarred in every bit of information I could … In a novel you have to resist the urge to tell everything.’
Now that the final Potter book is out, however, Rowling feels no more restraints. She has a definite idea what her surviving main characters made out of their lives and was more than happy to share that information on the show. You can find those details at this link, but we’d advise you not to read them unless you’ve finished book 7, or you will definitely have the book’s ending spoiled for you.

The big news from Comic-Con was the confirmation that Karen Allen is reprising her role as Marion Ravenwood in Indiana Jones IV, but Paramount Pictures has also updated the official website for the film with a new teaser image.
The photo shows Indy’s hat and whip rested on a big wooden crate labelled as the ‘property of Dr. Jones’. X-Realms editor Elgar reckons the crate may be holding the Ark of the Covenant . Judge for yourself after viewing the image in our gallery.
The movie is scheduled to open in cinemas May 22, 2008.

Director Jon Favreau appeared on stage during Paramount’s Comic-Con panel yesterday to premiere a rough trailer for his Iron Man adaptation.
ComingSoon.net has posted a description of the footage. Here’s a sample: The footage starts with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark addressing soldiers with a speech which is paraphrased here: “Is it better to be feared than respected? I say, ‘Is it too much to ask for both?’ With that in mind, I humbly present the crown jewel of Stark Industries’ Freedom Line. It’s the first missile system to incorporate our proprietary repulsor technology.” He then says something about the best weapon being one you don’t have to fire, but he disagrees and says that the best weapon is the one you only have to fire once. “That’s how America does it.” It’s a great scene that shows the humor that Downey Jr. will be bringing to the role as do the next two scenes.

At Paramount’s Comic-Con panel, author and screenwriter Neil Gaiman (Stardust, Beowulf) answered audience inquiries as to whether or not they’d ever get to see a film adaptation of his groundbreaking comic-book The Sandman.
ComingSoon.net quotes Gaiman’s reply: ‘I’ve been saying since 1991, I’d rather see no Sandman movie than a bad Sandman movie made. I think the time of a good Sandman movie is getting closer. With luck, we’ll see the Death movie first ’cause that’s small and cheap and I’m going to direct it. [A Sandman movie] needs someone with the passion of a Peter Jackson for Lord of the Rings or Sam Raimi on Spider-Man to get the film through Warner Bros.’

Warner Home Video sent out a media release announcing the DVD and limited cinematical release of Blade Runner: The Final Cut later this year:
The one that started it all. Sir Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford, is one of the most important science-fiction movies of the 20th Century — the film with immeasurable influence on society for its futuristic depiction of a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world, a film perhaps more powerful and relevant today than when it was made. The film, in fact, has appeared on more ‘Top Five’ sci-fi lists than any other film.
