Marvel Studios producer Avi Arad confirmed to MTV News that Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank (Boys Don’t Cry, Million Dollar Baby) will appear in Jon Favreau’s Iron Man comic book adaptation.
Rumours about this first began circulating after Favreau capitalized the ‘S’ in ’swank’ in a post on his MySpace page back in June.
‘How do you know [about that]?,’ a stunned Arad replied to MTV when asked about Swank. With the cat out of the bag, he admitted: ‘It’s a cameo.’

An extra in Bryan Singer’s WWII drama Valkyrie indicated to the German Tageszeitung that the film’s title may have been changed to Rubicon.
Apparently, he heard the title at the agency that’s casting the film’s extras. The suggested new title is likely an allusion to the famous quote by Col. von Stauffenberg (played by Tom Cruise in the film) about the crossing of the Italian river Rubicon.
The thriller is based on actual events, and sees German generals hatching a scheme to assassinate Adolph Hitler at the height of the Second World War.

ShockTillYouDrop.com has posted some behind-the-scenes footage from J.J. Abrams’ enigmatic 1-18-08 in Los Angeles. Click here to watch. In addition to this, it appears that Paramount Pictures have registered the domain TheMonstrousMovie.com.
In other news, a member at unifiction has posted some photos of a possible teaser poster for the film, writing ‘I just wanted to let you know about something I saw at a warehouse sale called Frank & Son’s here in Southern California. Basically they sell collectible stuff like cards, comics, toys, etc. It is like a mini convention hall every wed and saturday. Anyway, I was at a large booth where they sell movie posters. One of the posters there had a snapshot of the statue of liberty overlooking the city of new york. The statue was missing it’s head and at the top in large white letters it said ‘Monstrous’. The lower right corner had in smaller white letters, 1-18-08.’
Here’s the photos that he posted (not the possible tagline, or maybe even title in the second shot):

Warner Bros. is planning to adapt the DC comic book Jonah Hex says the Hollywood Reporter.
Filmmakers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank) are on board to adapt with Andrew Lazar taking production duties. Jonah Hex is a western comic book anti-hero, created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga, and published by DC Comics. The right side of his face is horribly scarred as a result of an attack by an Apache chief, and he is normally shown wearing a Confederate States Army uniform. The original comic book heavily subverts that western genre conventions with Jonah battling alcoholism, and having to deal with issues like his mother’s turn to prostitution.
