Contrary to recent remours, it appears that The Man of Steel is still scheduled to start production in early 2008.
A source in the Bryan Singer camp has responded to earlier claims from the producers on the Harvey Milk biopic who suggested that The Mayor of Castro Street will be the director’s next project. ‘That’s total horse shit’ the source told IESB , ‘I would say the same thing if I was producing that film but don’t you realize that most of the Superman producers are working with Bryan on Valkyrie? Gil Adler and Chris Lee both are in Germany with Bryan and I can guarantee you that there is some work being done with Superman right now.’
The Man of Steel is based upon a story and screenplay by Michael Dougherty and will hit cinemas in 2009.

SCI FI Channel executive VP Mark Stern has told reporters that the producers of the upcoming series Flash Gordon are working on incorporating a cameo appearance by Sam Jones, who played the title hero in a 1980 feature-film version.
‘We are talking about getting Sam Jones in to do a stunt role, because it’s just too delicious not to,’ Stern said in a press conference on the set in Vancouver, Canada.
SCI FI’s original series is based on the venerable SF franchise that began with a newspaper comic strip in the 1930s and has since spawned radio serials, TV shows and movies, including Jones’ campy film that is best known for its Queen soundtrack. Flash Gordon is currently filming its first season of 22 episodes and will premiere on SCI FI Channel in August.
