‘Die Hard 4.0′ ReviewBruce Willis reprises the role that propelled him to stardom twenty years ago. But can a franchise that helped kick off the modern day action film genre still distinguish itself from other movies in today’s market?

consoleyourselfws2.pngNext Gen Gaming – Don’t you just love it? Not if you’re a third party developer for the PS3 apparently!

2K sports, EA and Namco Bandai all seem to be having a few issues keeping their PS3 releases up to spec with the Xbox 360 versions.  American Football titles All Pro Football 2K8 and EAs Madden and NCAA 08 games are set to run at a thoroughly last gen 30FPS on the Sony machine – half that of the 360 versions.

Now before three quarters of the gaming world shrugs it’s collective shoulders in a show of mass indifference it’s worth bearing in mind that EA develops the FIFA games and is a company who’s UK market share has doubled in the previous year.

libertysmall.jpgA scooper at AICN has claimed that Matt Reeves (Felicity) will direct the J.J.Abrams’ produced monster movie Cloverfield.

Cloverfield, which may only be a codename for the project has been written by Drew Godard (Lost, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is ultra-secret at the moment, but it is believed that a teaser trailer will be attached to Paramount’s Transformers. Apparently the teaser involves an attack on New York in which the Statue of Liberty is destroyed and the head comes tumbling down to earth.

A January 18th 2008 release is anticipated.

watchmensmall1.jpgThe LA Daily News reports that Warner Bros is on the hunt for look-alikes for their upcoming Watchmen adaptation.

The list of dopplegangers required includes: Richard Nixon, Henry Kissinger, H.R. Haldeman, Ted Koppel, John McLaughlin, Annie Liebowitz, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Fidel Castro, Albert Einstein, Norman Rockwell, JFK and Jackie Kennedy, Andy Warhol, Mao Tze Tung and Larry King.

Watchmen is set in an alternative 1985, where the US is on the verge on nuclear conflict with the Soviet Union. It tells the story of a group of past and present superheroes and the events surrounding the mysterious murder of one of their own. Watchmen depicts superheroes as real people who must confront ethical and personal issues, who struggle with neuroses and failings, and who - with one notable exception - lack anything recognizable as super powers.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
