indyivsmall4.jpgThe New Haven Register reports that Harrison Ford arrived in town last night to begin shooting scenes for Indiana Jones IV. Director Steven Spielberg is due to arrive today.

The Yale University campus will play a prominent role as fictional Marshall College circa 1957 in the yet to be named film. Producer Frank Marshall said that the decision to look at Yale was based on brief exterior scenes shot for Raiders of the Lost Ark at the University of the Pacific in California, a school often chosen for its resemblance to Ivy League schools.

billycampbellsmall.jpgSCI FI channel/USA Network boss Bonnie Hammer has told reporters that 4400 star Billy Campbell begged her for a role in the final season of Battlestar Galactica.

‘He literally assaulted me trying to do whatever he possibly could to bribe me to have me bribe [executive producers] Ron [Moore] and David [Eick] to create a character arc inside Battlestar Galactica,’ Hammer said at a press conference in Canada, on June 26. ‘That is the only show he ever wanted to be in. That is the only show he would do for free. Billy Campbell, literally, saying, ‘Give me an arc, any kind of arc, in Battlestar Galactica, please.’ And it was very hard to get away from.’

Beowulf, which is brought to the screen via performance-captured 3D computer generated imagery, stars Ray Winstone, Angelina Jolie, John Malkovich, Anthony Hopkins and Robin Wright Penn, opens in US theaters in November.

conansmall.jpgJust weeks after Warner Bros. lost the rights to adapt Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian, New Line has moved into prime position to make a movie based on the mythical conqueror reports Variety.

Interest in Conan was attributed to the strong showing of the macho sandal saga 300 and at auction, New Line posted an eighteen month bid for the rights with one extension. 2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
