Columbia House, the largest music and video club in the world is to step into the next-gen HD disk fray.
Following reports today that suggest for the first time that DVD sales are starting to suffer as a result of competition from HD DVD and Blu-ray, the company has announced that it will stock both formats. This is a significant move that indicates that the new formats are starting to earn mainstream acceptance. The disks should be available to its 14 million members before the end of 2007.

MTV have got their hands on a high resolution version of the Where The Wild Things Are promotional poster that made its debut at the New York Licensing Show last week.

The movie, directed by Spike Jonze and written by Dave Eggers is based upon Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s picture book. The book describes the imaginary adventures of a young boy named Max, who is angry after being sent to his room without supper. Max wears a distinctive wolf suit during his adventures and encounters various mythical creatures.

AICN reports that Sony have released a new trailer for the WETA FX-powered fantasy adaptation The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep. This is a different trailer from the teaser released recently. Click here to watch.
The film is an adaptation of the children’s fantasy novel by British author Dick King-Smith. Rooted in one of the most enduring and intriguing legends of our time - the Loch Ness monster - the story begins with an enchanted egg… and what hatches will set in motion an adventure that will take a young boy on the unforgettable journey of a lifetime.
The film is directed by Jay Russell and stars Ben Chaplin, Bryan Cox and Emily Watson, and hits cinemas December 25.

Cartoon Network Studios and Hasbro are co-producing a new animated Transformers series says The Hollywood Reporter.
The producers hope to capitalize on the momentum created by the upcoming movie, and will premiere the show in January. It will be the first Transformers toon that Hasbro has co-produced rather than its Japanese toy and production partner, Takara.

The IMAX Corporation has released a new trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The trailer for the large format version of the film, which includes new footage, can be viewed here.
IMAX (short for Image Maximum) is a film format created in 1967 by Canada’s IMAX Corporation with the intention of dramatically increasing the quality of projected film by using much larger film stock at a resolution comparable to about 10000 x 7000 pixels.

The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports that filming on Indiana Jones IV is set to take place along the island’s Hamakua Coast for three weeks in August.
‘Everybody’s excited about the project’ said Lucasfilm publicist Deb Wuliger ‘and we’re really excited about going to shoot on location, and we also want to be able to preserve a bit of surprise when people plop down their — I don’t know what ticket prices are in Hawaii, but in L.A. it’s $12 — come next May. So we’re really trying to keep everything to a minimum’.
