MTV has posted a quote on their new movie blog from James Cromwell (who plays Captain Stacy in Spider-Man 3) mentioning his character’s possible fate in Spider-Man 4.
Apparently Cromwell told MTV News that the Stacy family would have a much bigger role to play in future installments. Asked if Captain Stacy would meet the same grisly end as in the comics (where he is crushed by debris from a fight between Spidey and Doc Ock), the veteran actor carefully replied: ‘They haven’t shot that [scene] yet. That’s the next one.’

A rumour has surfaced on Aint-it-cool-news claiming that a teaser trailer for The Dark Knight will play in front of copies of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (in cinemas from July 13) in the United States.
The scooper also provided a brief description of the supposed teaser, which details that the clip will not feature any film footage (understandable, since the movie only started shooting a few weeks ago), but rather a play at the film’s main villain, the Joker. You can follow this link to read the report.
The Batman Begins sequel is set to hit theaters July 18, 2008.

Film producer Avi Arad spoke to MTV about Magneto, the upcoming X-Men spinoff written and directed by David Goyer.
Arad teased: ‘Think of meeting him in [the first X-Men movie] as a young boy in a concentration camp. What happens to his life after the war?’ He followed up by answering his own question, revealing that the film would follow Magneto discovering ‘if [his powers are] real or not and the whole journey of [his] survival as a young man.’
Arad also mentioned that the X-Men prequel might explore Magneto’s early friendship and later rift with Charles Xavier, the mutant who goes on to become the leader of the X-Men. The producer also voiced his approval of the casting of Robert Downey Jr. for the role of Iron Man and hopes he will be equally successful in finding an actor to play the young Magneto.

Thomas Jane has revealed to AICN that he’s pulled out of The Punisher 2.
‘What I won’t do is spend months of my life sweating over a movie that I just don’t believe in’ wrote the star of the first installment, released in 2004, ‘I’ve always loved the Marvel guys, and wish them well’.
Jane actually turned down the role in the first movie on two occasions as well as a part in the first X-Men movie because he did not see himself as a superhero actor. Jane will be seen next in Killshot and The Mutant Chronicles.
