Variety reports that Warner Bros have snapped up the rights to adapt Frank Miller’s early 80’s comic mini-series Ronin.
The plan is to create the visuals employing the same green-screen techniques used to film 300, with a budget likely to be in the region of $65 million. Ronin is a futuristic tale about a digraced samurai warrior reincarnated from his 13th-century era into post-apocalyptic New York to pursue a shape-shifting demon.
Although there is no script at present, Sylvain White is in negotiations to direct with Gianni Nunnari and Nick Wechsler taking production duties.
