Director Jon Favreau has posted an update on his Iron Man blog, in wich he discusses the various Iron Man suits and the first film still that was released last week:
‘Let me confirm a few things: The movie will contain both the gray suit and the gold and red. The light you see in the photo on Robert’s chest in the USA Today article is the chest piece glowing through his shirt. He is in captivity and forging the mask of the Mark 1.’

Writer-director Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain) spoke to The Guardian about one of his upcoming projects, which is about the biblical figure Noah.
Aronofsky explains that the script is no conventional biblical epic: ‘Noah was the first person to plant vineyards and drink wine and get drunk. It’s there in the Bible - it was one of the first things he did when he reached land. There was some real survivor’s guilt going on there. He’s a dark, complicated character.’ You can read the entire interview at this link.

Variety reports that the Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez double feature Grindhouse will be released as two separate movies in the UK.
The original plan was to release the film, like in the US, as a double bill in the UK and Australia, and separated into its two segments everywhere else. Following the failure of Grindhouse at the US box office, which was partly blamed on the long running time of the double feature, the studio was debating whether or not to cancel the cinematic release of the movie outside of the US altogether. But the decision now reached merely sees the separate release strategy extended to the UK also.
Death Proof, Tarantino’s segment, will be released September 21, while Rodriguez’ Planet Terror currently has no confirmed release date yet.

A while ago it was announced that Universal Pictures had signed Russel Crowe to star in a new Robin Hood film entitled Nottingham. Variety now reports that Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator) has been brought on board to direct the picture.
In this revisionist take on the popular myth Crowe plays the Sheriff of Nottingham, who’ll be shown as a noble and brave lawman labouring for a corrupt king, whereas the Robin Hood character will be portrayed in a less virtuous light. The film is set to include a love triangle between Maid Marion, Robin Hood and the Sheriff. Production on Nottingam will commence sometime in 2008.
