Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane WatsonWith exactly one more week to go until Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 opens in cinemas around the globe, we have now reached our penultimate interview with the film’s main cast. So far we had Thomas Haden Church (Sandman), Bryce Dallas Howard (Gwen Stacy),  James Franco (Harry Osborn) and Topher Grace (Venom), and we’re following those up with Kirsten Dunst today.

The American actress celebrated her cinematic breakthrough at the tender age of eleven when she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Interview with a Vampire. She has since starred in a wide variety of successful and acclaimed movies such as The Virgin Suicides, Crazy/Beautiful, Mona Lisa Smile and, most recently, Marie Antoinette. Dunst reprises her lead role as Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker’s girlfriend, in Spider-Man 3.

Tai’s Daemon OnthiaIn the world of The Golden Compass, every human being is accompanied by a daemon. Being the manifestation of the soul living outside of the human body, a daemon is representative of its human on every level (especially telling is the animal shape the daemon has taken).

The official website for The Golden Compass, which is due in cinemas December 7, has added a neat feature in which you can determine what your daemon would be. All you need to do is enter your name and gender, and answer twenty questions on a scale ranging from ’strongly disagree’ to ’strongly agree’. The feature will then reveal what animal your daemon is (along with a picture), based on your most striking characteristics, and give him/her a name. The results can be shared on your website, blog or message board.

‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ theatrical posterWarner Bros. Pictures has unveiled the theatrical onesheet for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Click here to load it in our movie gallery.

The poster features the series’ main trio - Harry, Ron and Hermione - along with four of the more prominent supporting characters who, in the film, join Harry’s little insurrection: Neville Longbottom, Ginny Weasley, Cho Chang and Luna Lovegood. Of note is the poster’s tagline ‘The Rebellion Begins’ and the fact that Harry is positioned in a way that has him isolated from the rest of the group on the poster. Fitting.

HellboyIn an interview with Shocktillyoudrop.com, Luke Goss spoke about starring as The Prince in Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, which is currently scheduled for an August 1, 2008 release.

‘I play ‘the Prince’ and in simplistic terminology he’s the nemesis. The great thing about him is he’s not trying to take over the world, he’s a rounded character that’s not just driven by greed and I think people are going to enjoy the depth Guillermo brings to him.’ Click here to read the entire interview.

Shia LaBeouf in ‘Disturbia’Shia LaBeouf has been following a rigorous training program to get in shape for Indiana Jones IV. The young actor has gained 15 pounds of muscle with a daily routine of one hour running and two hours lifting weights.

‘The guy is still in premium shape. You don’t want to be standing next to Harrison Ford and not be jacked also,’ LaBeouf told People Magazine.

The Disturbia star, who will be seen in Transformers this summer, talked about the pressure he’s under: ‘You don’t want to be the edition that sucks. You want to be in the edition that enhances it, so it’s tough. This is 20 years in the making now. The script has been in development for 15 years. It’s a huge project and you treat it that way.’

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
