Kurt Russel in 'Grindhouse'Some readers of JoBlo.com told the website that their local theaters were running the two Grindhouse film segments by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez seperately, or together but with an intermission instead of the faux trailers inbetween.

After some further research the website found out that Weinstein Co. were testing various such concepts at select theaters in order to improve the film’s business. None of these methods seems to have led to any positive results, however, and word is that Weinstein Co. would now very likely cancel their plans to split Grindhouse in two domestically and re-release.

Galactus as he will not appear in 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer'While murmurs of dismal early test screenings spread, they also revealed that none other than Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus in the Matrix trilogy) would be voicing the Silver Surfer’s nemesis Galactus in the upcoming sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

With the finished Galactus CGI work missing from these screenings, Aint-it-cool-news now claims to have the first info on how the planet-consuming supervillain will look in the film: unlike in the comics, he will not be shown as a giant human-like being with a battle helmet (pictured), but rather as a ’storm cloud’. Some of the films money shots would thus see the Silver Surfer confronting a Fisburn-voiced maelstrom. Apparently, even the film crew are calling this decision a ‘heartbreaker’.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. LewisAint-it-cool-news claims to have learned that Michael Apted will take over the directing chair from Andrew Adamson for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third film in the franchise.

Adamson had directed the first film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) and is currently filming the second installment Prince Caspian for a May 16, 2008 release. It was announced a while ago that he wouldn’t return for the third part, but early rumours had suggested that The Illusionist director Neil Burger would replace him.

Michael Apted was responsible for the acclaimed Up series of TV films and also directed films like Gorky Park, Nell, The World is Not Enough, Enigma and Amazing Grace.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
