Transformers: Optimus Prime posterA new TV ad for Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers film adaptation has hit the net at Seibertron.com. While the link on that page currently doesn’t function, you can view the video at this link instead.

The short clip features scenes (some old, some new) with the robots transforming and/or wreaking havoc on everything around them, and some lines of dialogue from Jon Voight’s character. Most importantly, though, it shows off the first footage of Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) speaking (’My name is Optimus Prime’) - and he has lips!

Prince of Persia: The Sands of TimeAccording to IESB.net, Transformers director Michael Bay will (once again) team up with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney on the big screen adaptation of the best-selling video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, to be released in the summer of 2009.

The video game follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. But Jordan Mechner, the original creator of the game who also wrote the first draft of the film, has stated that the movie will be different: ‘Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we’re taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story - much as ‘Pirates’ [of the Caribbean] did with the theme park ride.’

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
