Sources say that the studio has set an early January start date and has hired A-list casting directors Jane Jenkins and Debbie McWilliams to fill out the thriller’s supporting roles.

Angels & Demons, published in 2000 introduces the character of Robert Langdon and tells the story of a conflict between the Illuminati and the Roman Catholic Church. Akiva Goldsman is adapting the screenplay.

mummysmall1.jpgVariety reports that although Brendan Fraser has closed a lucrative deal to return for The Mummy 3 he won’t be joined by onscreen wife Rachel Weisz.

Since her last appearance as Evelyn Carnahan O’Connell in the 2001 sequel The Mummy Returns Weisz has won an Oscar so her reluctance to to reprise her role in the hammy franchise is perhaps understandable.

Rob Cohen is directing the project, which is expected to begin production late this Summer from a script by Smallville creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough. The Mummy 3 is set in China and will introduce Jet Li as the new villain.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
