ashestoashessmall.jpgFollowing the broadcast of the final episode of the phenomenally successful time-travel cop drama Life on Mars the BBC have released information on the sequel- Ashes to Ashes.

Flanked by his faithful sidekicks, Ray Carling (Dean Andrews) and Chris Skelton (Marshall Lancaster), and drawn to the action and intrigue of the London Met, Gene turns his attentions to taking on the ‘Southern nancy’ criminal scum. The Voyage of the Dawn TreaderA director has been officially attached to the third Narnia film The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, reports NarniaWeb. The name of the director, however, is still being kept under wraps - but rumours are pointing towards Neil Burger (The Illusionist).

Andrew Adamson, who helmed the first Narnia film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) and the upcoming second installment Prince Caspian (2008), bowed out of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (which is now in pre-production) earlier this year. The story follows the two youngest Pevensie’s, Lucy and Edmond, who along with their obnoxious cousin Eustace and King Caspian go on a quest to find the seven lost Lords of Narnia.

Harry Potter and the Order of the PhoenixThere have been some rumours that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix screenwriter Michael Goldenberg was not happy with how the film’s turned out - all false, as it now turns out. Harry Potter fansite The Leaky Cauldron had the opportunity to speak with Goldenberg, who offered a candid insight into his adaptation of the fifth book:

‘It’s a story that’s darker and more psychological and more political than the stories that came before, and all those elements are really interesting to me — especially in terms of really connecting with what Harry’s going through in this film, in this story. It’s about his journey from being somebody who’s very angry and very alienated and feeling very outside the fold to somebody who’s really become an adult and a leader who’s going to take the DA and everybody else into this final battle. I think it’s a key transition that he goes through and that we all go through in that stage in life.’

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
