It seems that the long-delayed apocalyptic Sci-Fi epic Southland Tales will be completed ready for screenings this summer.
Director Richard Kelly has revealed on his blog that Sony has given him a green light to finish the film’s visual FX after he slashed down the running time by half an hour to two hours and 17 minutes following mixed reviews at Cannes.
Southland Tales stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Sarah Michelle Gellar and is set in near-future Los Angeles on the eve of an unnamed disaster.

A source at Comingsoon.net reports that after the release of Sin City 2, the comic book franchise may continue on the small screen.
During an interview on the PBS ‘The Charlie Rose Show’, director Robert Rodriguez said that Sin City 2 would probably begin shooting in June and that Sin City would probably continue in some form on television. With George Lucas proclaiming that ‘television is the future’ and with his own live action show in development, this doesn’t sound so outlandish.
The Sin City series of comics created by Frank Miller are told in a film noir-like style. The first story originally appeared in Dark Horse Presents comic book from April of 1991 to June of 1992, under the title of Sin City, serialized in thirteen parts. Several other stories of variable lengths have followed. All stories take place in Basin City, with frequent recurring characters and intertwining stories.
