Christine Peters, Dean Georgaris, Michael Aguilar and Stan Winston are picking up production duties on the project which is based on an Atari arcade unit launched in 1995.

Set in the U.S. government’s most top-secret military facility, the story revolves around a hazardous materials specialist who is called in to investigate a viral outbreak that could be extra-terrestrial in nature.

metalmensmall.jpgAccording to The Hollywood Reporter Warner Bros are developing a big screen adaptation of the DC Comic book Metal Men.

Metal Men are a team of robot superheroes created by writer Robert Kanigher for DC Comics in 1962. The team of automatons are artificially intelligent robots, created by scientist Dr. William Magnus. The team consists of their field leader Gold, strong man Iron, slow-witted and loyal Lead, self-doubting and insecure Tin, hot-headed Mercury, and the female Platinum, or Tina, who thinks she is a real woman rather than a robot.

Lauren Shuler Donner will direct with Eric Champnella penning the screenplay.

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
