Harry Potter and the Order of the PhoenixDavid Yates discussed his take on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in a new interview with GeekMonthly:

‘That’s what this film and story partly looks at - the very emotional and turbulent time when you’re growing up and you’re suddenly questioning everything about the world. You’re also discovering the world is quite a complex and complicated place, and all the adults around you don’t necessarily have all the answers; there might even be falling out amongst themselves about how to deal with issues and problems that are threatening them. And you discover how complicated you are within your own self. What Jo is brilliant at doing, ultimately, is exploring that universal truth regarding that transition to adulthood in this magical universe.’ Find out what else he had to say here.

Bryan SingerBryan Singer (X-Men, Superman Returns) will re-team with his The Usual Suspects screenwriter Chris McQuarrie to deliver an original thriller. The untitled film is set in WWII and is a multi-character ensemble piece.

‘This was something Chris showed me late last year, and we worked on it quietly during the holidays [...] It’s a period in history that has always fascinated me, and we found a very interesting story that materialized into a pretty wonderful script,’ Singer told Daily Variety. Compared with Singer’s last three (superhero) films, the new project will come at a moderate budget. The filmmaker’s choice to direct this next also means that WarnerBros’ hopes of mounting a sequel to Superman Returns in the near future are delayed.

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
