IESB reports that Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura will commence work on a live-action movie version of G.I. Joe as his next project after Transformers. During the Shooter press junket, Di Bonaventura said that he has Mark Wahlberg in mind for the lead role of Duke, the Joes’ second-in-command and leader in the field.
David Elliot and Paul Lovett have penned a draft of the G.I. Joe script that apparently charts the rise of Cobra Commander before the formation of Cobra Command.
The original G.I. Joe comic strip was created by David Breger for United States military magazines during World War II and in 1964 became a series of military-themed 12″ articulated action figures produced by the Hasbro toy company.

Producer Joel Silver was at San Francisco’s WonderCon over the weekend to promote his new film The Reaping, but it didn’t take long for fans in the audience to question him about the status of Wonder Woman.
The SCI-FI Wire quotes him as saying: ‘We’re not there yet. I mean, look, … for a while these Marvel Comics [movies] have been kicking the DC Comics [movies’] ass. You know? I mean all these characters that just keep coming out. And, look, they revived Batman. They’re making a new Batman now. It should be great. They’re making a new Superman, and they’re going to do Justice League, all the characters, which I think is a cool idea. And we’re going to get Wonder Woman to work.’

George Lucas has finally struck a deal with Paramount to release the 1990s TV show Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on DVD, reports IGN.
‘Ultimately [I] wanted to release it on DVD with documentaries.’ said Lucas, adding that the documentaries will focus on the famous people that Jones crossed paths with on the episodes. Lucas intends for the disks to be used as learning tools, aimed at high school students and to that end, the DVDs will include lesson plans, which will explain how the episodes, plus the 100 hours of documentaries can teach students about the historical figures seen on the series.
The DVDs will include the reedited versions of the series previously available on VHS, which took the 44 episodes of the show and turned them into 22, 90 minute, feature length stories. Lucas also added that it is costing Paramount more to digitally clean up the 16mm prints than it did to shoot the shows in the first place.
