stallonesmall.jpgFans anticipating an all-action Rambo IV might be disappointed says franchise creator Sylvester Stallone in an interview with the Guardian.

Mirroring the change of pace that made Rocky Balboa a global success, the veteran action star said ‘He won’t be outrunning helicopters and dropping napalm. It’s more of an emotional journey, it’ll be Rambo reaching old age and dealing with that and a new threat.’

John Rambo, the latest outing for the violent action franchise sees the title character hired by Christian missionaries while working as a snake hunter in Thailand to deliver medical and religious supplies to the persecuted Karens of Burma. The missionaries are captured and Rambo is saddled with the job of rescuing the surviving missionaries. Sam Elliott has been tipped to co-star.

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
