Three brand new film stills and one new poster from Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers film have been unveiled by ComingSoon.net.
While the poster shows a fully rendered Optimus Prime (same shot as on the previously released Empire cover) standing against the backdrop of the film’s original teaser poster (with the robot eye overlooking the earth), the photos depict Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox on a destruction site, an armed Josh Duhamel and his G.I. posse in the desert, and a dusty shoot setup in the sand. You can view all of these images and more in our gallery.

Representatives of the press were invited to Shepperton Studios in the UK yesterday, onto the set of New Line Cinema’s The Golden Compass. The first set reports have now been published on two fansites of the His Dark Materials series.
BridgeToTheStars posted a very detailed overview of the tour they got, which included seeing early footage from the film, talking with director Chris Weitz and the film’s young lead actress Dakota Blue Richards, plus impressions from the art, costume and special effects departments. To quote an interesting observation: “Everyone here seems very conscious that they are perceived of as following in the wake of the fantasy revival with LotR and Narnia, and are keen to distance themselves from it.” A second, less extensive report can be read on HisDarkMaterials.org.

Sources close to the Wachowski’s Speed Racer project have revealed that the filmmakers are aiming for a family-friendly ‘G’ rating, a first for the American directors.
This supports comments made during a recent Empire magazine interview where Joel Silver said “At the end of the first couple of days the studio was able to forecast what (V for Vendetta) would make domestically, which was $70 million+. That was great. The movie didn’t cost very much, so everyone was very happy. The next weekend Ice Age 2 opened with $70 million and the boys thought that was very interesting…They wanted to make a big family entertainment.”

A character over at Joblo.com called T. Straka has reported that he’d heard on entertainment show Extra that Steven Spielberg has offered Clint Eastwood a role in Indiana Jones IV.
We’ve no idea whether there’s any truth in this rumor, but as I recall it’s one that has circulated before. A case of no smoke without fire perhaps?
