In an interview with ScI FI Wire at the Saturn Awards this week Rick McCallum dropped some hints about the format of the much anticipated live-action Star Wars TV series.
“We’re interviewing writers. We’re seeing a lot of people. But I’d say it’s not going to be happening for another at least 18 months,” he said.
Reiterating that the show will be set in the time period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope he added, “That missing 20-year period when Luke is growing up… Think bounty hunter. That’s all I can tell you. There’s nobody else that you’ll know.”
Rick McCallum was attending to accept awards for Revenge of the Sith. The 32nd annual Saturn awards, presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror films honors television, home entertainment and video games. Revenge of the Sith won in the categories of Best Science Fiction Film and Best Music for the score by John Williams. Video game Star Wars Battlefront II also scooped a gong.
