The release of director Ron Howard’s (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind) film adaptation of author Dan Brown’s bestseller is approaching fast: The Da Vinci Code will premiere at the Cannes film festival on May 17 and open to audiences worldwide May 18 and 19. With less than a month to go, Sony Pictures has unleashed the marketing monster, having the film’s trailer play in cinemas, publishing ads in magazines and newspapers and sticking huge banners on hardly bigger buildings in various cities around the world, showcasing the movie’s stars: Tom Hanks, Audrey Tatou, Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina, Paul Bettany and Jean Reno.
