The year is 2027, and the world has seemingly gone down the drain. The impending apocalypse has been prompted by the fact that, for an unknown reason, humankind has become one hundred percent infertile. No baby has been born in over 18 years, and the world is despairing in anarchy. Britain has sealed off its borders, and the ruthless totalitarian regime tries to keep the chaos in check with brute force. Immigrants have been declared illegal – they are rounded up and, in the best case, deported. Former political activist Theo (Clive Owen) one day finds himself thrust into the heart of this volatile climate, when his ex-wife and rebel leader Julien (Julianna Moore) seeks his help in order to lead to safety a young girl who harbours the hope of mankind: Kee is eight months pregnant, and she’s black and illegal.

The movie sold £1.7 million ($3.2 million) worth of tickets, a 54 percent increase over comparable sales for the previous Bond film and first-day record-holder, 2002’s Die Another Day. The studio proudly added that two-thirds of all movie tickets sold in Britain were for Bond 21.
